With the severe damage caused by the Ottermouth flooding, it is unpredictable what effect it’s going to have on the Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club this coming season, more will become clear in the months ahead, writes SpursTom.
At present I have no idea of what changes are likely to the 1st and 2nd eleven squads, I suspect the club secretary will inform us eventually.
It is clear that to launch any challenge; they need to bring in some experienced players.
Regarding the Colts, the club has appointed Karl Short as its new Colts Co-ordinator, and he has been quick to get things rolling.
For the 2013 season the club will be entering teams into the Bradleys East Devon Youth League in the Under-10 soft ball pairs and Under-11 hard ball pair’s.
They will also field sides in the Under-11, 12, 13 and 15 leagues and also have an Under-14 team to contest the League Under-14 KO Cup.
An academy team will be participating in the local community League ran by the club.
will also be organised sessions for the Under-8s on the usual Friday evenings.
Short has also arranged for Colts Winter Nets practise to start in February, and would like parents and guardians of present members and children wishing to become members to contact, giving him a quick message with both your name and the name of your young cricketer, by e-mail if possible to karl.short@gmail.com
You can also phone him on (mobile) 07411 434535 or (home) 01392 271236.
