Archant

Budleigh have won both of their most recent home friendlies in fine style.

The mixed triples match versus Chardstock ended with the score at 90 shots to 63 and the home side won on three of the five rinks.

The highest margin of the day was recorded by Alf Wallen, Bill Barber and Leighton Burston with plus 15, followed by skips Archie Autton and Burges Stace, both on plus ten.

Captain John Vanstone had to call in a number of favours to fill a ten rink fixture with Plymouth Nomads and this was achieved thanks to all those from within and outside the club who contributed to an enjoyable encounter from which Budleigh (and friends) emerged the victors by 189 to 156.

The rink score was six to four in the home side’s favour and congratulations are due to G Marshall, whose rink won 28-13.
