Blues were 31-25 winners over Sidmouth. Francis Newton’s team were 18-9 victors whilst Ron Cook’s Sidmouth trio succeeded in salvaging two points, winning a tight game by three shots.

Budleigh won on both rinks and by 46 shots to 27 in a home friendly against Ottery St Mary. Ron Tyler, skipping Jacqui Bishop, Burges Stace and Leighton Burston, finished on plus 15 and captain Peter Burch’s rink chipped in with plus four

The captain’s next duty was to welcome the Devon Presidents for another home friendly which ended with one rink win apiece and the visitors’ prevailing 39-30.

Ron Tyler skipped Budleigh successful rink (again!) and, with Tony Lim, Keith Edwards and Peter Burch, scored three shots over the final three ends to finish 18-10 winners.
