Budleigh Reserves 1, Thorverton 1
Honours ended even in this Fresha League Premier Division meeting at Greenway Lane, writes SpursTom.
In terms of possession, Thorverton may have had the greater percentage, but it was Budleigh who took the lead on 35 minutes when Dave Radford lobbed the visiting keeper with a shot-cum-cross from the right wing approximately 30-yards out.
It was end to end stuff, but the Robins held onto their advantage as the whistle sounded half-time.
After the break it was Robins keeper Alec Richardson who was the busier of the two glovesmen as Thorverton again did most of the pressing.
Budleigh did create opportunities and could have increased their lead when second half substitute, Barnaby Pender saw his shot sail narrowly over the bar.
The Mid Devon side finished strongly and bagged a late equaliser through Lee Radford.
There were some good displays across the park from the Robins with Dave Radford claiming the Man of the match award.
A special mention of the referee, R Worth, who had an excellent game with an average of 90 per cent (a very high mark) from the managers for his handling of the game.
