Budleigh win one of their final matches of the indoor season

PUBLISHED: 17:38 09 April 2014 | UPDATED: 17:38 09 April 2014

The Budleigh indoor season is drawing to a close.

In one of the final friendly matches of the season Budleigh played host to representatives from the Devon Masonic Bowling Association.

Despite the loan of two of the Budleigh lady bowlers, Lilian Grainger and Marilyn Jackson, who certainly strengthened their team, the visitors lost on both rinks.

Dick Mitchell skipped Tony Lim, Dorothy MacConville, and Peter Cooper to a 28-10 victory, whilst there was a 33-16 victory for Brian Evans’ rink.

Able-bodied members (Yes! we do have a surprising number), are reminded to turn out in force by 9.30am on Monday, April 14, to cover the carpet and transform the club-house to it’s summer format.

The exhibition to attract new members, mounted in Tesco’s foyer (to whom we are grateful) produced many enquiries and we hope to have a bumper Open Day.

The forecasts will be scanned anxiously as Saturday, April 12, approaches in the hope the weather will not deter members of the public from trying indoor and outdoor bowling from 110am through until 12.30pm.

We hope to welcome lots of new folk to the club that day.
