With black clouds looming Exmouth Sea Angling Association members braved the elements for their latest competition at Budleigh Salterton, writes Bob Pennells.

However, the fish did not match the enthusiasm shown by the anglers!

After about an hour the sky’s cleared without any rain falling which made for slightly more favourable conditions.

Very few fish were caught during daylight and things didn’t improve much during darkness either.

Brian the Viking Reed did manage to land a specimen dog fish weighing 3.04lb, but

it still wasn’t enough to win the competition!

That accolade went to Andy Browning with a mixed bag of dog fish.

Reed had to settle for second place and third sport went to Tony Mcginty.
