Brothers Tony and Robin Mackness have both been elected golf club captains for 2018.

Tony became captain of East Devon on January 1, 2018, and brother Robin took office as captain of Hawkstone Park Golf Club in Shropshire on February 1.

Tony and his wife, Deirdre, retired to Devon in 2003 and both joined East Devon Golf Club in 2006.

Tony was seniors’ captain in 2012. Robin and his wife, Lesley, have lived in Shropshire for the past 25 years and Robin is a golfer of no mean repute.

Both brothers make regular visits to each other’s courses and each has the ambition of an away win against their brother!
