Central 2, Brixington United 7
Brixington United Under-15s scored another seven goals to maintain top spot in Division Two of the Exeter and District Youth League, writes David White.
In a clear indication of just how strong the current United squad is, leading scorer Max Howard started on the bench for the table-topers latest game in Exeter.
Coaches Ian Horne and Ju Young chose to start with Ed White and Jack Wall up front and they didn’t disappoint with White getting the first two goals and Wall netting numbers three and four!
Half-time arrived with United 4-1 to the good, but they could, and perhaps should have been further ahead as both strikers missed chances to net first half hat-tricks!
The home side spent much of the firs-half on the back foot with much of this down to the industry and endeavour of the United midfield five of Zac Newsome, Cameron Brown, Joe Gore, Jay Jackson and Luke Young.
After the break Howard was introduced from the bench and he added two more to his impressive tally this season.
Befitting of a side so full of goals they saved the best for last, a stunning 30-yard volley Cameron Brown.
The home side had the final word with a second consolation late on, but United were the comfortable winners; this, their fifth triumph of the league season.
On Saturday United entertain four placed Dawlish.
