Brixington Under-15s first game of the new year produced a four goal second half show as the team eventually comfortably brushed aside the challenge of a team from the same division as them to progress to the last eight of the League Cup.

The pitch was soft underfoot but perfectly playable on a bright sunny Saturday morning at the archery field.

Brixington made just one change with Joe Gore coming in on the left hand side.

The home side thought they had scored early on when Cameron Browns bullet cross from the left was poked in by Ed White only for the referee to rule that the ball had gone out of play.

United kept up the pressure and it wasn’t long before Jack Walls neat finish put the home side one up.

The midfield battle was becoming quite intense and heated and some hearty tackles were flying in!

Ollie Morey in particular was in spectacularly destructive form and did not shirk a single tackle as usual.

United were two up just before half time when the Crediton Keeper failed to control the ball and allowed Ed White to take the ball round him and score.

After the break United began to take control and Jay Jackson and Cameron Brown capitalised on Moreys sturdy work.

More space allowed substitutes Max Howard and Bradley Snook to cause mayhem with Howard getting two to add to his impressive tally and Bradley Snook and Cameron Brown also getting on the score sheet.

Ollie Morey was named the United Man of the Match.

United are now eagerly anticipating their local derby with Blues on Saturday!
