Brixington Blues Under-9s welcomed two strong teams to their Friends Life pitch.
Against the Alphington Panthers it was the Exeter side who started brightly with lots of good passing and went ahead.
Blues then started to find their feet and Kye Wartnaby equalised with a tidy finish to make it 1-1 at the break.
In the second half Panthers scored a further two, but the industrious midfielder Thomas Humphry, notched twice to even things up at 3-3.
A close encounter was sealed by the Panthers with a late winner leaving them 4-3 victors.
The Blues second game saw them take on high-flying St Martins who pass the ball exceptionally well.
However, they found Will Cooper in great form in the Blues goal and he denied them goals on countless occasions and half-time was reached with no goals at either end.
Another commendable feature of the Blues first half performance was the contribution from defensive duo Owen Shaw and Luke Buck. However, once St Martins scored after the break, their confidence grew and they ran out 4-0 winners.
