Boeree wins the ESAA two-week long Species Hunt

21:23 05 March 2014

Exmouth Sea Angling Association held their annual fortnight-long Species Hunt from mid-February ending on Sunday (March 2), writes Bob Pennells.

Despite the continuing bad weather the event was well supported.

With rough seas and strong winds at the start most venues were unfishable!

Si Boeree had a week away up on the north coast and that proved to be a fruitful venue as he caught at least 70 dog fish in the week (so that is where they all were) Boeree also caught dabs and rockling which ultimately helped his catch to be the best and so he took first spot in the competition.

The runners-up place was taken by Andy Browning and third place went to Garry Currie.

The Best Specimen award was won by Andy Browning with a lesser spotted dog fish.
