The opening competition of the Exmouth Sea Angling Association year, the January competition was well supported, writes Robert Pennells.
The match was fished in a strong chilly south westerly wind which presented something of a challenge to the competitors.
First place went to Si Boeree with a one-and-a-half pound silver eel which was also a best specimen fish.
Second place was taken by Mike Richardson with a good sized flounder and Harry Gaddes bagged a decent bass to take third spot.
Si Boeree braved the elements to fish from Rodney Bay where he caught a sizable bass just before the start of the competition and an undersize flounder, both of which were returned to the sea.
