Okehampton 5, Budleigh Salterton 0
The Robins Under-15 were hit by a four goal second half salvo as they went down at undefeated Okehampton in their latest Exeter and District Youth League game, writes SpursTom.
Both sides started brightly and chances were created at either end. Slowly but surely the home side began edging ahead in the possession stakes and took the lead midway through the half following a corner, with Tallan Burns adding the finishing touch.
Budleigh’s goal-keeper Scot Bochemski then pulled off a couple of smart saves to prevent the Robins falling further behind prior to the interval.
After the break home marksman Charlie Maskell took over the show! Almost immediately after the restart he doubled his sides lead and got his second just before the hour.
As the pressure mounted Bochemski denied Okehampton with a Man of the Match display, but all his heroics were in vain, as his team mates tired and he was beaten twice more late on by Masekll.
Budleigh’s squad: Bochemski, Penhallurick, Goodesmith, Cresswell, Mingo, Anderson, Walker, Edwards, Larsson-Carter, Taylor, Rockey, Williams and Swain.
