Bicton Blister drawing nearer

Exmouth Harriers are getting set for this year’s Bicton Blister, writes Dave Eveleigh.

The 2012 race takes place on Sunday November 25, at 11 am.

The Blister is a race of about 10 miles (not too far, but a worthwhile challenge), over the pebbled heaths of Woodbury Common, and there is a shorter version, the Blister Lite, of four and a half miles.

The race headquarters is at Bicton College near East Budleigh, in East Devon. If you are a local club runner or even unattached to a club, but feel you are fit enough, this may be the multi-terrain challenge you have been looking for.

There is a dedicated Bicton blister website (www.bictonblister.co.uk) we there are lots more details. You can also pop into Ironbridge Runner in Bartholomew Street, Exeter and pick up an entry form.

Entries can be made using the website or by post to 5, Caroline Close, Exmouth EX8 4AZ. Minimum ages for the races are; Blister - 15 years, Lite - 13 years with entry fees £13 and £11 for Blister and Lite respectively, but £2 less if you are UKA Affiliated (Running Club Members).

Entries made on the day are £2 extra for everybody. When entering you should include name, address, phone contact, gender, date of birth, club and UKA Number if applicable, not forgetting to say which race you wish to enter, and to enclose a large stamped addressed envelope.
