Alphington Ladies 3, Exmouth Amateur Ladies 0
For the third week running Ammies were beaten by the Exeter-based side, but, as in both the previous encounter, the Alphas were made to work hard for their spoils.
Ammies again showed plenty of quality moving the ball around the pitch well, but the difference between the sides was clearly the clinical way the Alphas took their chances.
The hosts started with high tempo and took an early two goal lead.
Ammies started to get a foothold in the game, but only created half-chances which sawCordwell and Sharpe have efforts saved whilst both Wills and Sharpe just failed to get on the end of Worsley crosses, and the home side took a 2-0 lead into the break.
In such a tight game the third goal was always going to be vital and it was bagged by Alphington courtesy of a stunning free-kick that flew into the top corner giving Rose no chance.
Once again, where many sides might have folded, Ammies refused to concede the match and they bossed the final third of the contest.
Cordwell and Sharpe, who combined well down the left, both had great chances.
Cordwell beat three players before striking an upright whilst Sharpe beat two defenders before hammering a shot that the keeper saved well.
In one other close thing, Rawlings had a shot from the edge of the area tipped round the post by the Alphas keeper.
