Work is progressing on a new temporary play park set to cost £150,000 in taxpayers’ cash.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) previously stated it is hopeful the park can be open to the public in time for the next bank holiday at the end of the month.

The Jurassic-themed area will form part of the temporary attractions set to be in place on the former Exmouth Fun Park site until March next year.

EDDC has earmarked the former fun park for ‘phase three’ of the Exmouth Seafront Regeneration Scheme.

The former boating lake next door to the new play park is set to become a food and drink area with a number of pop-up outlets earmarked for this zone.

The land behind the old boating lake is to become an events area which could host a big screen for the airing of live sport and music.
