Woman hospitalised after rescue from water’s edge

A woman has been taken to hospital after being rescued from Exmouth beach yesterday evening.
An ambulance service spokesman said the service was called at 7.13pm to reports of a female unconscious on the beach at Orcombe Point.
She was taken by ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
A spokesman for Exmouth RNLI said the inshore lifeboat had launched at 8.06pm, at the request of HM Coastguard, to recover a casualty from the water’s edge who was drifting in and out of consciousness.
