FLOODS OF CALLS: Firefighters were called to Brixington on Monday, September 24, amid scores of calls reporting flooding across the region.
A crew was called to Nasmith Close, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.
The fire service said it responded to dozens of calls between 6am and 10am following torrential rain overnight.
HELP FOR CLUBS: Sports clubs across the Exeter, Mid and East Devon area are being offered free support to help them cope with the increased level of demand following the success of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
County Sport Partnership Active Devon is holding a free club support evening on Monday (October 1) at St Luke’s Science and Sports College in Exeter for sports clubs from the Exeter, Mid and East Devon area.
The evening offers clubs the opportunity to find out about the latest programmes and help available to manage and grow membership levels.
The workshops will focus on developing school links and identifying and applying for available sources of funding.

BETTING SHOP BID: Plans have been submitted to open a bookmakers in Brixington.
Ladbrokes have applied to begin trading at 10 Brixington Parade, off Churchill Road.
Exmouth Town Council will now consider the plan, before East Devon District Council makes the final decision.
