Brixington Primary School needs a new governor with a business background to help shape the future of the school.

The school currently has nine governors, who all have different skills and
experience.

But now they need someone with expertise in business, finance and book-keeping to join their team, to help keep tabs on the school’s expenditure and budget.

The governing body is charged with working with the school to ensure that it delivers a good quality education to all its pupils. Its other remit is to take a strategic overview of the school’s direction.

Isabelle Candy, clerk to the governors, said: “The school requires a governor with experience in finance or accounting or running their own business to complement the skill set of the existing governors.

“The successful candidate will initially be required to sit on the resources committee, which has responsibility for setting and monitoring the school budget.

“This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a local business person who is prepared to invest their time and experience on a voluntary basis.”

To register your interest by the closing date of April 30, please contact Isabelle Candy on 01395 266997 or by email at icandy@brixington.devon.sch.uk. Further details are available on the school’s website at www.brixington.devon.sch.uk.
