SALEM ACTORS: A group of actors from East Budleigh are performing at the Cygnet Theatre, in Exeter, on Friday, October 26.

The Salem Players, which formed in 2009 and meet at the village’s Salem Chapel, are performing a show, Changing Times, where the company will team up with singing group Nota Rioty, whose songs reflect the actors’ work.

Hilary Ackland, Salem Players’ director, said: “In January, the beginning of each year, we engage in writing workshops developing material together for performance.

“The emphasis is on poetry, short stories and monologues within a theme. We believe in exploring ideas through entertaining our audiences.

“Serious poems to make you think are interspersed with humorous stories and thoughtful monologues.”
