A vintage and handmade fair is being held in Topsham this Saturday. Read this and more.
HOSPISCARE BRIDGE: A fundraising bridge drive is being held in Topsham to raise money for Hospiscare.
It takes place at Matthews Hall on September 28, starting at 2pm.
Admission will cost £7.50 per person, including tea. Tickets are available from Liz Neill on 01392 873431.
PLANS WITHDRAWN: Plans to modify a Topsham home have been withdrawn by the applicant.
The plan had been to build a two-storey extension at 1 Ferry Road.
ART ACADEMY: A new term of art classes is coming to Topsham.
The East Devon Art Academy will be running sessions from next week, after a successful summer school series.
There are classes suitable for all levels of ability from absolute beginners to advanced students, and drawing or painting in a wide range of styles.

PYTTE PLANS: Plans to replace a Clyst St George home have been submitted for planning permission.
The scheme is to demolish the existing dwelling and outbuildings at Pytte Cottage, and build a replacement home and carport.
East Devon District Council will now rule on the plans.
VINTAGE FAIR: A vintage and handmade fair is being held in Topsham this Saturday.
It is being held at the Globe Hotel function room, between 10am and 4pm, with free entry.
The event is in addition to the weekly Friday fairs at St Nicholas church hall, between 10am and 3pm, also with free entry.
Vintage and recycled furniture, homewares, clothes and collectables, plus handmade accessories will be available.
NEW HOME: An application has been made to build a new home in Clyst St George.
The plan to construct a detached bungalow with garage at Popples in Old Rydon Lane will now be considered by East Devon District Council.
CHARITY REPORT: Topsham charity Devon in Sight has released its annual report and accounts for the past year.
The document is available to view online at www.devoninsight.org.uk, and was due to be accepted at the charity’s AGM yesterday.
COUNCILLOR WANTED: Bishops Clyst Parish Council has a vacancy for a new councillor.
The space on the council, which covers Clyst St Mary and Sowton, is open to anyone over the age of 18 who has lived, worked or owned property in the parish or within three miles of the parish boundary for at least a year, and the deadline for applications is October 1.

TRESILLIAN TWO: Plans to build two new homes in Topsham have been approved by Exeter City Council. The plan is for two detached houses, along with garages, to be built on land at 5 Tresillian Gardens.
