Orchestra’s concert will celebrate the Royal Wedding and 100 years of the RAF

Exmouth Light Orchestra performs its annual Summer Extravaganza on Saturday, July 14 – and the concert will include musical tributes to the Royal Wedding and the RAF.

The orchestra will play the Wedding March by Mendelssohn in honour of the royal couple, and will also perform The Dam Busters by Eric Coates from the 1955 film, to mark the centenary of the Royal Air Force.

But there will still be plenty of time for the usual variety of favourites, including music from The Lion King score and the Pirates of the Caribbean film, swing tunes from Cole Porter, and some of Michael Jackson’s hits. The concert also features classical works from Wagner and Mozart.

The orchestra is now in its seventh season and has 90 musicians The concert is at the Church of St John The Evangelist in Withycombe Village Road, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from Best Books in The Parade at a cost of £5.
