Motorists are being warned of ‘long delays’ on an East Devon stretch of the A30 this afternoon after a coach fire closed the road.

Devon and Cornwall Police reported a coach fire had closed the A30, near Fairmile, in both directions, at around lunchtime, on Saturday, March 10.

The incident took place between the B3174 Exeter Road / B3180 (Daisy Mount Cross) and the A35 Exeter Road.

Highways England later tweeted to report the A30 westbound had reopened, but still with one lane closure in place. Highways also said although lanes were now open Eastbound, road users in the area could still expect ‘long delays’.

Devon and Cornwall Police remain at the scene dealing with the incident.

Updates will be provided as and when we get them.
