Exmouth and Sidmouth have rubber-stamped a joint £63,000 three-year contract for new Christmas lights.
Civic leaders have opted to pool their resources to save cash and chosen firm Gala Lights as contracter for both towns.
Exmouth had expected to spend £14,000 a year for the next three years, but now the price tag is £12,000.
And £7,000 has been pledged by the town council with £5,000 raised through fundraisers by voluntary group Exmouth Christmas Lights, bring the total contribution to £36,000.
Sidmouth’s contribution will be around £9,000 a year, £27,000 in total.
The town’s switch-on will take place at the Christmas Cracker Saturday, 7 December 2013.
