Thefts from two boats moored in Topsham has prompted a police appeal for information

Police are appealing for information relating to two thefts from boats moored in Topsham.

Devon and Cornwall police said the boats were targeted between 9pm on August 24 and 7.15am the following day.

Officers said one vessel was stripped of its contents after it had its lines cut and was towed to the bank.

Devon and Cornwall police said a Yamaha 60 horse power outboard engine – serial no 6c5l1050400- and two fishing rods were among the items stolen.

On the same night, at around the same time, a Yamaha s40b outboard motor model f40bet2 - serial no 67c1045003 – was stolen and the boat was left to drift onto the estuary.

Police would like to hear from anyone offered matching equipment to buy, or of they have information about the thefts.
