One of the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchants, Bradfords, will become the first big name business to lease premises at Exmouth’s newest business park - Liverton 2.

The company’s 28th branch is expected to open next spring and will create 10 jobs and another 15 in the future.

The firm will occupy a purpose-built 1858 sqm unit on a two-acre site.

It will be the first time Bradfords have traded in Exmouth although they already have branches in the nearby towns of Honiton, Sidmouth and Seaton as well as Exeter.

The firm’s network stretches across the whole of the South West, Herefordshire and Worcestershire and is operated from headquarters in Yeovil.

Leigh Rix, head of property and land for Clinton Devon Estates, the owners of Liverton Business Park said: “Bradfords is a highly respected family business with a 250 year history of supplying the building trade here in the South West and we are delighted that they will become our first tenants at Liverton 2.

“We are currently working on the specification of their new building to ensure it meets their needs as well as the needs of their customers.”

Dennis Smith, MD Bradfords said: “Exmouth has been a missing jigsaw piece in our south west network and we were prepared to wait to find the right premises in the right place.

“I am confident that we have found this at Liverton 2 and we look forward to offering our customers, both existing customers and new ones, a first rate service in a first rate location.”

Clinton Devon Estates’ retained Agent Malcolm Williams from Harrison-Lavers and Potburys said: “Liverton 2 has provided East Devon with a rare opportunity to develop bespoke business space in a prime location.”
