The Devon flag was hoisted to the top of the Spinnakers development at Exmouth Marina to mark the ‘topping out’ of the building.
Spinnakers is the final apartment block to be constructed on the marina part of Exmouth Quay. The area has been transformed over the last decade from a run-down former docks into a modern development.
The £2.8million Spinnakers project, which will house 14 apartments, is the latest build by developer Eagle One around Exmouth Marina.
Former chairman of the Exmouth Quay Residents’ Association, Ian Dowell, director of Eagle One Homes Chris Fayers, and site manager Stuart O’Higgins raised the flag to mark the roof being put into place.
Exmouth mayor John Humphreys said: “It’s great to see this last stage of the marina coming to fruition. This area has been transformed over the last decade and is playing a key role in the regeneration of Exmouth.”
Chris Fayers said: “This is a special moment having been involved continuously from the inception of this fantastic scheme.
“I used to come here on holiday in the early seventies and never for one moment thought I would be instrumental in transforming this area of Exmouth.”
