REF exe lesley library1 Full House at Exmouth Library for Lesley Pearse A full house of sixty were entertained by best-selling author Lesley Pearse at Exmouth Library last week. Lesley was in Exmouth to celebrate the launch of her latest paperback 'The promise'. Lesley has fond memories of visiting Exmouth as a child and has recently purchased a holiday home in Devon. Lesley spoke of her inspiration, her tireless research and her family's reaction to her racier stories. Her mother apparently wished she hadn't "exercised the coarser part of her imagination so vigorously". Librarian Chris Launder was thrilled with the response from the Exmouth public who supported the event. Chris is hopeful that Exmouth Library can host more exciting author events in the future.

A best-selling author was in Exmouth to launch her latest novel

Fans of best-selling author Lesley Pearse flocked to Exmouth library last week to see the novelist launch her latest paperback, The Promise.

Librarian Chris Launder said he was ‘thrilled’ with the enthusiasm of the 60-strong full house crowd. He said he hoped the library could play host to other popular authors in the future.

Chris said: “Lesley has fond memories of visiting Exmouth as a child and has recently purchased a holiday home in Devon.

“Lesley spoke of her inspiration, her tireless research and her family’s reaction to her racier stories - her mother apparently wished she hadn’t ‘exercised the coarser part of her imagination so vigorously’.”

Lesley has fans across the globe and has sold more than seven million copies of her books, which include crime novel Till We Meet Again, historical adventure Never Look Back or the true-life scandal Trust Me, based on British child migrants sent to Australia in the post war period.
