The fundraiser is called ‘Kiddiwinks in Jimjams’ and will raise money for Sports Relief on March 25.

Thirty children from childminders Jimjams in Gibson Close Brixington, and from Kiddiwinks in Langstone Drive, are expected to take part.

The event has been organised by the owner of Kiddiwinks, Gemma Botham, 27, her husband Daniel Botham and her mother-in-law Lisa Botham.

Also taking part is Natasha Cross Kiddiwinks of Langstone Drive.

Gemma said: “We do something every year but wanted to publicise it to raise more money.

“But we don’t get the recognition that nursery schools get even though a lot is expected of us and we wanted to show people what we do.”

She said that the children can either walk or ride around the park on their scooters and added: “Many of the children are under five and some have only just started to walk so it will be a big challenge for them.

“I want to thank Penny at PJ’s Embroidery for embroidering the children’s bibs at such short notice.”
