Town crier Roger Bourgein showed off his new robes for the first time at the Christmas Cracker last weekend.
The robes were sponsored by Gina and Ray Lovegrove of the Manor Lodge Carehome, and made by Sarah Radford.
Roger said: “I wanted something regal, and something true to what would have been worn by an 18th century gentleman.
“I think I am the only town crier to be dressed in purple.”
“He added: “I want to thank Gina, Ray and Sarah – this is the second set of robes I have had made and I am very grateful.”
Roger also wore his special ‘Christmas’ robe.
- he has four others, for Easter, Valentines Day, breast cancer and for Hallowe’en.
