Tesco Exmouth festive foodbank needs you

Tesco stores in Exmouth are gearing up for an annual food collection drive to boost local foodbanks in time for Christmas. Volunteers are needed to in Exmouth to help at the collection points.

Volunteers are being sought in Exmouth to help with a nationwide food collection to help people in need this Christmas.

Food charities FareShare and The Trussell Trust are appealing for help with donation points at larger Tesco stores from Thursday, November 30 to Saturday, December 2, as part of the Tesco food collection project.

Volunteers are needed in Exmouth to hand out shopping lists to customers of long-life food items needed by foodbanks and community groups locally, plus answer any customer questions.

Tesco will boost donations by an extra 20 per cent in support of the charities.

Alec Brown, head of community at Tesco, said: “Our customers have been incredibly generous in recent years and with the help of volunteers we hope to collect even more this year to support those who really need it.”
