An Exmouth businesswoman has swapped cakes for skates as she prepares for her first season of roller derby action.

Charlotte ‘The Cake Lady’ Hanson was recruited to the sport late last year by top team the South West Angels of Terror (SWAT).

Following intense training, Charlotte has now qualified for SWAT’s ‘travel team’, which travels around the region competing in league fixtures.

She is the second Exmouth member of the team, joining photographer Kimberly Rainford, who continues with the team having been part of the side which won the South West League last year.

The girls begin their season in April, and are looking for local businesses to sponsor them.
