FROM dogs to hamsters, all creatures great and small attended special pet services at two local churches recently.
Coinciding with when the Church remembers St Francis, the patron saint of animals, the services at Lympstone’s parish church and Exmouth’s Holy Trinity Church were open to everyone of all ages – and their pets.
At Exmouth, the congregation ‘pawsing’ to pray included Isobel and Ben Pavey with their dog Tess and Beacon School pupil Charlotte Moules and her hamster Spike.
After the service – conducted by the Revd James Hutchings – there was a collection for the Blue Cross animal welfare charity for its rescue and rehoming centre in Tiverton.
