Firefighters from Exmouth responded to a two-car collision near Salterton Road on Wednesday night after hearing the vehicles crash.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the collision was ‘almost outside’ to door of the fire station, on the junction of Liverton Businesss Park and Salterton Road, shortly before 9pm.

When the crews arrived they found one casualty still inside one of the vehicles, waiting for medical help.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Exmouth whole-time appliance mobilised to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles almost outside the door of the fire station after hearing the collision occur.

“On arrival they reported that one person was still in one of the vehicles awaiting assessment by the paramedics.

“The Exmouth retained appliance was then also mobilised. The police were requested to assist with traffic control.

“The casualty did not require extrication from the vehicle and both vehicles were made safe using small tools.”
