Visitors to Budleigh Salterton will now be able to find out what the town has to offer as soon as they step off the bus or out of their cars thanks to a local business group.

Budleigh in Business has put up signs featuring its shoppers’ guide, which maps out stores and amenities in the town, at Upper Station Road, Rolle Mews and Lime Kiln car parks, as well as on the side of the Public Hall.

The guide started out being distributed in leaflet form – which it still is – but can now also be seen easily by anyone using the car parks and the Public Hall bus stop.

The signs also feature a link which visitors can scan with their phone to download an electronic version of the guide.

Budleigh in Business has paid for the signs themselves, with funding for the installation coming from Devon County Council and Budleigh Salterton Town Council, and assistance also coming from East Devon District Council, who runs the car parks, and district councillor Tom Wright.

Budleigh in Business treasurer Mike Clarke said: “It’s really good that we have been able to deliver something for the town.”
