A seagull has been rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped on the roof of a block of flats in Victoria Road this morning.

The fire service was alerted to the incident by an RSPCA inspector, and on arrival crews confirmed the bird was trapped four storeys up.

Crews used their ladders to retrieve the bird, which was placed in the care of the RSPCA.
