School reunion tea party planned in Budleigh Salterton and other news

All former pupils, staff and governors of St Peter’s C of E Primary School are invited to a reunion tea. Read this and more.

QUIET DAY: The Raleigh Mission Community is holding its next ‘quiet day’ on September 7 at the Millhouse Retreat Centre, near Tiverton.

EXTENSIONS GRANTED: Two rear extensions have been rubberstamped by district planners.

They are at 10 Knowle Village, and at 9 Kersbrook Lane, Kersbrook.

BREAK-IN ATTEMPT: Police say that there was an attempted break-in to a car parked at South Farm.

REUNION: All former pupils, staff and governors of St Peter’s C of E Primary School are invited to a reunion tea on Wednesday, September 19, from 2pm to 4pm.

POLICE: East Budleigh residents can raise any policing concerns they have at the information point on Wednesday, August 22, at 10am; Thursday, September 20, at 9am; Saturday, October 20, at 1pm and Friday, November 23, at 3.15pm.

If you cannot attend on these dates but wish to speak to a local officer, please call 101.

BARBECUE: The next event by the Friends of All Saints Church, East Budleigh, is a barbecue at the vicarage on Saturday, September 1, at 7pm, hosted by Reverend Anne Charlton. Tickets are £5.

LADRAM BAY: Proposals for a new toilet and shower block and landscaping at the holiday park in Otterton have been filed with district planners.

CHARITY GOLF DAY: The annual event at East Devon Golf Club takes place on Thursday, August 23.

TAI-CHI: Tai-Chi starts back on Monday, September 3, in the Public Hall after a short break.

FRIENDS: A new social group is seeking members and assistant organisers in the Budleigh Salterton area.

The East Devon Meetup Group gives people from the age of 21 to 55ish the chance to make new friends at a range of events including the pub, meals, walks, cinema and trips to London.

JUBILEE CASH: The amount raised in Otterton through jubilee events and donations was £1,257.34.

TABLE FOOTBALL: There is a table top sale in aid of East Budleigh Football Supoorters’ Club, in the Village Hall, on Saturday, August 25, from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

There will be tombola, a draw, cakes and refreshments. Tables will be £5. Call 01395 278079.
