FOR SCHOOL COFFERS: A fundraising jumble sale is being held at Marpool Primary School.

It takes place this Saturday between 2pm and 3.15pm, at the school hall in Moorfield Road.

Quality clothes, bric-a-brac, toys, games and books, including a large selection of adult fiction, will be available, along with refreshments, and admission will cost 20p.

All profits will go to the school PTA fund.

WOODBURY HOME BID: Plans to build a new home in Woodbury have been approved by East Devon District Council.

The plan would see a two-storey home being built at Penryn, with an existing single-storey home being demolished.

COLOURFUL EVENT: The annual Christian Aid Rainbow Fair is being held at Tower Street Methodist Hall.

It takes place on October 13 at 10 am. There will be a table sale with books, cakes, DVDs and cards. Tea and coffee will be served.

There will also be a three-course cooked lunch available from 11.45am, at a cost of £4. Admission will be free. All profits will go the Christian Aid.

TREES FACE AXE: Plans to cut down four trees at a Brixington home have been approved by Exmouth Town Council.

The trees, at Marley House in Higher Marley Road, were said to be in poor condition. Councillors were told there was a risk one could fall into the road.

NEW HOME BACKED: Plans to create a new home in Exmouth have been approved by town councillors.

A building to the rear of 47 Egremont Road would be converted to form the dwelling. East Devon District Council will now rule on the plan.
