SCHOOL BINGO: Marpool Primary School is holding its latest family bingo evening.
It takes place in the school hall in Moorfield Road on Friday, February 1, with doors opening at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
Refreshments will be on sale and there will also be a raffle, with all profits going to the school PTA fund.
HORSE ALERT: Police are warning horse owners that their animals could be getting marked out for future theft.
A call to be vigilant has been issued after a horse, which was loose in a field, had its mane plaited.
“This was done without consent and there is a concern that there might be a hidden message and the animal may have been marked to steal at a later date,” said a police spokesman.
The incident was reported on January 11 and a piece of twine was found tied to the field gate.
Horse owners are being urged to check their animals on a regular basis and to report anything suspicious to police on 101.
SORRY, MAVIS: Exmouth Hospital League of Friends chairman Mavis Prideaux has asked us to clarify that, contrary to a headline in last week’s Journal, she has not left the role.
The person who has stepped down is former group treasurer John Murphy, as was stated in the accompanying article.
We would like to apologise for the confusion.
SUPPORTED: Plans to build a rear extension at 14 Maristow Avenue have been backed by Exmouth Town Council. East Devon District Council will make the final ruling.
