Cyclists are being invited to join a charity ride to Exmouth this weekend to help charities which supported a family through their mother’s illness.

The family of Bridget Johns, from Ebford, who died from cancer earlier this year, has organised the ride and barbecue to raise money for Hospiscare, Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Bridget’s daughter, Lizzie Johns, said: “You never know when someone you love will need these charities, so it is vital that we raise money as a community to support them.”

The ride is being hosted by cycle hire company, The Bike Bus, and will cover approximately 20 miles of the Exe Estuary Trail.

It takes place on Sunday, setting off from Haven Road on Exeter Quay at 11am, heading for Orcombe Point in Exmouth.

There is a registration fee of £15 for adults and £10 for children which includes a sandwich at Orcombe Point and a barbecue at Turf Lock.

To register and also arrange cycle hire call Chris Johns of The Bike Bus on 07773 362119 or visit www.facebook.com/exeterbikebus.
