ANNEXE BID: Town planners have not backed plans to demolish a greenhouse and to convert and extend a garage to form a self contained annexe at Lyonesse, 12 Fore Street Hill, Budleigh Salterton.

They had concerns that the development would be over-development of the site, the plans would be detrimental to the conservation area and concerns were expressed over the stability of the land. The plans will now be considered by district planners.

SALEM CHAPEL: East Budleigh’s festival of decorated Christmas trees takes place at Salem Chapel from Friday, November 30 to Sunday, December 2, from 2pm to to 5pm, except Sunday, when there will be a Christmas tree blessing at 4pm.

There will also be a children’s competition ‘find the sleeping mice’ in the chapel.

Kathy Moyle said: “Last year was such a success this will now be a yearly event. The number of trees have reallly grown, I have lost count”.

WALL DEMOLITION BACKED: A bid to demolish and rebuild rear boundary wall adjacent to a listed building at 5 East Terrace, Budleigh Salterton, has thye support of town planners. The plans will now be considered by district plannners.

CHOIR: The Gospel Choir from Sidmouth will be singing at St Peter’s Church in Budleigh Salterton on Monday, December 3 at 7.30pm in aid of Hospiscare.

Tickets are only £5 per person and will include a glass of mulled wine and mince pies.

All proceeds will go to the Budleigh Salterton and District Hospiscare Fund.

St Peter’s is a big church, so do tell your friends and neighbours about this event – the more the merrier, and all the better for Hospiscare.
