Exmouth RNLI’s coffers, to fund a new launch and recovery vehicle for the station’s new boat due next year, were boosted by Bronte Court residents
Bronte Court residents presented Exmouth RNLI with a cheque for £140 to help fund the new launch and recovery vehicle for the Shannon-class lifeboat, due in 2014.
At the end of last year, the residents forfeited Christmas cards in favour of making a donation to the RNLI.
Resident Patricia Johnson recently handed over the donation to volunteer shop manager, Margaret Eaglesham.
An RNLI spokesman said: “Instead of buying individual Christmas cards for each other, residents from the Exmouth retirement apartments decided to donate money to a local charity.
“Choosing a photo of a snowman as a design for the large scale card, residents were invited to sign and leave a donation.”
