Exmouth pupils’ patriotic floral display marks history past and present

The royal wedding has been marked in Exmouth with a floral display in planted by youngsters from the town’s primary schools.

Pupils from Brixington Academy, Exeter Road Primary School, Withycombe Raleigh C of E Primary School, Sunshine pre-school and Dolphin pre-school teamed up with Exmouth in Bloom and district council Streetscene workers to plant up four flower beds with red, white and blue blooms to commemorate Harry and Meghan tying the knot and to mark 100 years since the end of World War One.

Exmouth in Bloom said the children’s enthusiasm was ‘infectious’, adding ‘they made a super job of their planting’.

A spokeswoman for Exmouth in Bloom said: “Huge thanks goes to Streetscene for their preparation and planning on the plant front.

“Each of the beds has a different design, but all have the same type of plants so that the overall finished effect is, stunning.
