Publicity boost for charity ball

An Exmouth charity is celebrating a major coup for its fundraising ball, after securing the support of one of the top names in showbiz.
The Harry Cunningham Trust, which is holding its third Harry’s Ball at Sandy Park in Exeter on November 15, will receive national coverage, thanks to a deal to cover the event with OK! Magazine.
OK! is interested in the event because of the glittering line-up of stars who will be appearing, which includes Ashley Taylor Dawson, Kym Marsh, and cast members from Made in Chelsea and The Only Way Is Essex.
There will also be live entertainment from former X Factor contestants Luke Friend and Rough Copy, and former Britain’s Got Talent runners-up Twist and Pulse.
The prospect of national exposure is a dream come true for Niki Cunningham, who founded the trust with husband Jamie after the death of their baby Harry from vasa praevia in 2012.
She said: “When we got confirmation of the acts I thought we might be able to get some national interest.
“My first port of call was OK!, as I thought we’d start big and see how we got on, and they were really keen straight away.
“We’re really excited to have them associated with us. National coverage was our goal, to raise awareness of what we are trying to do, and have more people knowing about the condition.”
Tickets for the ball, which includes a three-course meal, a silent auction and raffle, cost £70 for a standard ticket, £85 for a VIP package, which includes a drinks reception, and meet and greet with the celebrities, and £115 for the celebrity experience, which includes the chance to sit at a celebrity table.
The Trust is also still looking for businesses to support the event, with different packages available for sponsoring the ball itself or tables.

The Trust is also holding a fund day in Exmouth’s Manor Gardens on August 30, between 11am and 4pm.
