Exmouth police are warning people to be aware opportunist thieves have been operating in the Woodbury area.

Police are warning Woodbury residents to secure their property after a hedge cutter was stolen from a rear garden at a home in Park Way.

Officers said residents should be aware opportunist crime could happen at any time.

Exmouth police are keen to hear from anyone who may know the whereabouts of the stolen hedge cutter, or from anybody who has been offered similar equipment for sale.

Police community support officer Donna Baker said: “The offender was possibly watching the owner use the machine only minutes before, at the front of the property.”

Contact police with information on 101.
