Archant

Police are searching this morning for a woman seen in a distressed state in Topsham.

A police spokesman said officers were called to the town at around 5.30am, when the woman was seen by a member of the public who was concerned for her welfare.

The woman is described a white, aged 20 or younger, with brown hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a black vest, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

There were possible further sightings of her around Countess Wear and Topsham Quay.

It is not clear who the woman is, if she is unwell or has been a victim of crime.

If you see this woman, or can assist police in identifying her, call police on 101 quoting reference 90 of July 1 2014.
