Officers said four cars parked overnight recently had their wing mirrors damaged.

Devon and Cornwall police said it had stepped up patrols in the area during the hours the damage was caused, although further crimes had not been committed.

Crime prevention house-to-house visits by the police were also made.

A Devon and Cornwall police spokesman said: “Specialist local policing teams have been tasked and have conducted late night and early morning high visibility patrol.

“This approach will continue when operationally viable.”
