Point to clarify

PUBLISHED: 07:00 26 January 2013

There is just one small but important point to clarify in your report last week of the views of the Exmouth Community Association on the proposed Exmouth Splash.

We have suggested that there should be facilities for cars with trailers to park in the area in front of the building proposed for area four.

That is the area between the proposed hotel/holiday accommodation and the old lifeboat station.

We did not suggest that it should be in front of the water sports building, as that would go against the creation of a car-free area close to the beach - one of the advantages of the proposals.

In any case, as your report indicated, we consider the water-sports building needs to be located further east, at the other end of the Splash area.

This is the point between the sand-dunes which the kite and wind surfers use because it catches the wind, gives them a wide stretch of water and is further away from the narrow channel in front of Harbour View, which is often busy with boats going in each direction.
