Storms and high winds hit East Devon
High winds and torrential rains affected many parts of the South West this week. In East Devon many places showed signs of the storms the morning after. There were dramatic scenes at the Greenway Lane allotments in Budleigh Salterton as more than 40 sheds were toppled like dominoes, some had been flipped over several times by the strong winds. Still in Budleigh and the cricket ground and surrounding area was under several feet of water on Tuesday morning, the pavillion hit badly again while Monmouth Hill in Topsham was closed for a while as workmen cleared debris from the road.
