A new £1,600 heart-monitoring machine has been presented to doctors at an Exmouth surgery.
The new ECG machine was presented to Dr Simon Kay of the Haldon House Surgery, Imperial Road, by the Patient Participation Group.
ECG machines recognise and record any electrical activity within the heart and save lives.
The new HeartScreen 80 GL ECG Machine was needed to replace the existing machine and was paid for following fundraising from events that included the Christmas draw and coffee morning.
David Bassett, the chairman of the patients’ participation group, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to our Patient Participation Group which has donated £1,639 to enable us to buy a much needed ECG machine for patient use.
“The group have worked very hard and given a lot of their time to help raise the funds.”
